My name is Adeel Farooq, was born on 15th July 1980 in Lahore, Pakistan. After initial school education i went to Leeds, UK to study A Levels at Notre Dame College. Further on i completed BSc from the University of Huddersfield and MSc in eCommerce from Manchester Business School. I also went to Lancaster Business School year 2008-2010 for Executive MBA. I have moved back to Lahore, after living in the UK for twelve years.

I have been working in the eCommerce industry since 2004. My first job was a web designer to setup online catalogue for a small company in Manchester known as Cleopatra Trading, and then i joined Micro Direct as a developer. I left Micro Direct after two years as eCommerce Manager to join MediaVest Manchester as an affiliate manager - now known as Carat Manchester. Then i moved to Welspun Group Manchester as an eCommerce manager to manage their online brands such as Christy. I left Welspun in October 2010 to setup iLead in Lahore, Pakistan.

I had been working as freelancer for five years while i was in the UK specifically in the affiliate industry to help affiliates with their cashback, price comparison, group deal, discount voucher or other aggregation website design and development. I have been designing and developing eCommerce and affiliate projects for several years.

I have several years of experience in eCommerce strategy from planning to execution, online marketing campaign planning, development and management, website accessibility and conversion, ecommerce CMS systems, web analytics & optimisation, user experience and usability testing, web project management, social media application development, search engine marketing (PPC, SEO), affiliate marketing, price comparison engines, email marketing, online PR, social media marketing, incentive and white label website development.

This blog is my interactive tool to write about myself, my experiences in the eCommerce and affiliate industry and latest developments at iLead. I am currently working as CEO at iLead since November 2010 in Lahore, Pakistan.
